In an interview with Mark Greany he said that after college he wanted to attend Officer Candidate School however he didn’t make it in to the program. One day a girl came into the pizza parlor I was working at and I commented on her tramp stamp. ![]() If you want to go that route head straight for "Psycho-Cybernetics" by Maxwell Maltz. Last years phenom book and DVD "The Secret" tried to express the same ideas in a much less creative manner. The idea that our thoughts can control our lives is a very powerful one and truer than many realize. "Rarely do members of the same family grow up in the same house." "We teach best what we most need to learn." "Argue for your limitations and sure enough they're yours." Probably my all time favorite. I have seen quotes from this book appear in many locations and use many of them myself when working with students. That always surprised me because I felt that most of the ideas contained here were quite Christ like. ![]() I remember that some factions of the Christian right were outraged that the book referred to a Messiah other than Jesus. The fact that the author kind of went a bit off the deep end does not bother me (although it did for a while!) I still believe the ideas contained here are timeless and profound. Not because the writing was so great but the thoughts contained in it were so close to what I was feeling as a 19 year old away from home and on my own for the first time. I believe this book moved me more than any other before or since. ![]() ![]() ![]() Stanford hired Muybridge and his camera to answer that question. Sally was complaining and moping for the majority of the book and that just didn’t vibe with me. I’m not a diehard Nightmare Before Christmas fan – I enjoyed it, but I can’t tell you the last time I watched it. While this story is cute, I honestly can’t really say that I enjoyed it. Opening this door causes mayhem in Halloween Town and Sally has to figure out how to fix this problem. ![]() We start off with Jack and Sally going to Valentines Town for their honeymoon and I thought it was great we got to see another holiday town! As a result, some journeys have stretched on for years, often exposing migrants to extreme danger, and resulting in extended periods of family separation. These policies have included a metering system that allows only a small number of migrants to cross at a given port each day, the Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) system that requires some migrants to wait out their entire US asylum application process in Mexico, and the Title 42 public health policy that implements express expulsions of migrants apprehended without documentation near the border and prohibits most of them from applying for asylum. ![]() ![]() Since 2016, the US federal government, often in collaboration with that of Mexico and other nearby nations, has implemented a series of policies that make migrating more difficult for those hoping to cross the US southern border by land, including asylum seekers who may be fleeing persecution and imminent violence.
